Guitar Notes: This is a single acoustic solo. The song is played by John Butler (the composer) with a custom 11 string without a 2nd g string, but it sounds relatively fine on a 6 string acoustic. This is all based on Butler's performance at Max Sessions, seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xZw9D9c18E I HIGHHHHLLLYYY suggest that you all watch this video if you plan on learning this or just want to enjoy it to it's full potential. There is just soo much free playing in this song that cannot be transcribed. Next, I'm not a good tabber. This is my first tab, though I have made several user comps. But as for my ear tabbing, I'm not good. I feel this tab is somewhat accurate, but only really gives the gist of what this song is really about. Just remember, watch the video, and this will all make sense. I did not transcribe this entire tab by my ear. I found an ASCII tab on the internet and used it as a reference. This tab is seen here: http://www.ultimate- guitar.com/tabs/j/john_butler_trio/ocean_live_tab.htm For this reason I may or may not submit it to the PTC. I'll see later. That tab does have a handful of errors. So just, yeah. Watch the video. If the link expires for whatever reason or I faulted, just search John Butler Trio - Ocean or whatever into the search at www.youtube.com Make sure its John himself. Some of the covers just blow. As for the guitar tuning, All guitars = CGCGCe with a capo on fret 4. A custom made 11 string is the guitar Butler plays, and the common way to emulate it in PTE is two add a guitar an octave up, but I did so and it just didn't sound right. So I just add the guitar, tuned it all nice for you people, and if you REALLY want it there, just throw it in. Come on now. Click guitar in...click the two little check boxes...don't be lazy. Bass Notes: There's no bass, foo'.
